About the event
As many families prepare for the holidays, we’re inviting our community to a calm, guided hour where people can come together and reflect on how we navigate the festivities as part of an LGBTQ+ family.
Hosted by Marthe Koster Thomas (she/her), a queer parent coach who supports new and growing LGBTQIA+ families and part of the WCS Leadership Collective, we’ll explore what this time of year can bring up for those in our community through grounding exercises, coaching prompts and open sharing. Themes may include topics such as visibility, navigating family dynamics, creating our own traditions, and finding belonging or rest.
We’ll build in some breakout rooms to provide an opportunity for attendees to share & connect more personally. We’ll then come back to wrap up together with a short reflection and a few resources & ideas to take into the holidays. The session is open to all who are part of an LGBTQ+ family, whether a parent or child, sibling or grandparent, chosen family member or simply an ally.
We hope you’ll join us for this timely and festive moment. Come as you are, bring a cup of tea, and join us for a grounding and heart-centred hour to ease into the holiday season together.
