About the event

Join us for an evening hosted by the Marshmallow Pride Community, in collaboration with Breaking Barriers and We Create Space.

We’ll be screening ‘My (Refugee) Life’ — a powerful documentary following five refugees as they navigate life in the UK, exploring themes like displacement, love, family, and rebuilding. The film sheds light on refugee experiences and challenges common misconceptions.

After the screening, we’ll move into a panel discussion spotlighting lived refugee experiences. The conversation will explore both challenges and resilience, and highlight the role of community support, storytelling, and the arts in shaping understanding and advocacy.

To close the evening, we’ll share nibbles and create space for networking and connection.

Note: The documentary contains scenes that some may find triggering, including references to war, homophobia, grief, and trauma.

This is a chance to listen, learn, and connect; everyone is welcome!
