Shimar, a philosophy graduate originally from the Philippines, made the life-changing decision to move to Barcelona to pursue her studies. This move allowed her to acknowledge her true identity as a proud transgender woman and come to the realization that being herself is not a mental illness. Through her journey, she has discovered ways to live more authentically and is passionate about empowering others to do the same. With a background in HR, Shimar is currently the People and Talent Acquisition Manager for one of the largest cruise ship companies, where she takes pleasure in supporting and uplifting people. In her free time, she indulges in her love for reading, art, photography and food. As an expert in recruitment, Shimar is passionate about helping companies build diverse and inclusive teams that reflect the communities they serve.
