As a later-life queer person and cancer survivor, Suzy’s work is rooted in the belief that joy is something we can intentionally cultivate for ourselves. Keen to bring fresh perspective to the wellbeing industry, Suzy’s work prioritises our deep need for sustainable routes out of hustle culture. She has delivered workshops and programmes on topics such as radical rest, queer joy and reframing resilience with the likes of Universal Music, Spotify, Kobo and Nielsen. As a Positive Psychology Practitioner, Suzy also creates loving spaces where people can take the time to explore themselves.     Homophobia The fear, hatred, discomfort with, or mistrust of people who are lesbian, gay, or bisexual. People can also outwardly manifest homophobia towards other people as a result of cultural, social and religious views, or even as a result of internalised shame.     Unconscious (bias) Unconscious biases are social stereotypes about certain groups of people that individuals form outside their own conscious awareness. Everyone holds unconscious beliefs about various social and identity groups, and these biases stem from one's tendency to organize social worlds by categorizing. Recognising and addressing unconscious biases is a key goal of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives as they stand in the way of ensuring everyone has equal access to opportunities. < Back to Glossary
