  • Sanjay Sharma

    (he/him) Sanjay Sanjay originally trained in Paediatrics in Delhi. He went on to command two Air Force Hospitals, and coordinate National and International Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief operations. He’s now the first Consultant Administration of the Armed Forces Medical Services, India. Sanjay is also the proud parent of a Transgender woman and member of “Sweekar: The Rainbow Parents” , a parent support group for LGBTQAI+ persons in India where he runs a gender friendly holistic healthcare clinic. Among his many positions and achievements, he is the CEO of "Association for Transgender Health in India (ATHI)" and on the advisory committee of the Transgender Empowerment Board of Delhi. His important work has contributed towards formulating the ‘Transgender Persons Protection of Rights Act 2019 and Rules 2020’. He also conducted the first international conference on Transgender Healthcare in India “IPATHCON2019” , in association with Jamia Hamdard University , and was responsible for releasing the first Indian Standards of Care for Transgender Healthcare - ISOC1. Passionate about creating avenues for training and research, bringing benefits of scientific advances to help provide care to the community, he is currently working with the MoHFW to set up of a “Centre of Excellence in Transgender Health” at AIIMS , New Delhi. He co-founded the Wellbeing Committee and serves on the Steering Committee of dentsu's LGBTQ+ Network, Social Mobility Network, and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council. He previously worked for the Kaleidoscope Trust, where he supported LGBT+ activists across the world to campaign to decriminalise homosexuality. He has also worked with LinkedIn as part of their LinkedIn Changemakers campaign, which connects businesses to activists to encourage change in the world of work.     (she/her) Somar Somar is a Business Consultant and Advisor with a wealth of experience in DEI and organizational culture. She has worked with top companies such as Google , Vodafone , and HSBC for over 7 years. Somar has Iraqi roots and was raised in the UK but currently resides in Mexico. She recently helped Natura &Co , the largest publicly traded B-Corp , develop their first DEI strategy and capture DEI data. When she is not working, Somar volunteers as a mentor and tutor to students from marginalized communities.     (he/him) Jani Jani is a writer, actor and speaker. With a mother from Finland and a father from Kenya, Jani was born and raised in Helsinki, Finland. He served as an MP from 2011 to 2019. He is the first black member of the Finnish Parliament and one of the few openly gay politicians in Finland. His biggest political success was passing the same-sex marriage act in 2016. Before becoming a politician Jani was known as an actor and tv-host. He has published two books in relation to identity and fatherhood, and is currently working on his third book.     (he/him) Ryan Ryan is a Cultural Producer and Public Personality. His beliefs of raising awareness and visibility by creating Culture, Championing Creativity, and causing opportunity have made him a natural leader and an active Public Figure in the LGBTQIA community. He is regularly an ambassador for brands hosting talks, curating events and exhibitions as well as his monthly radio show amplifying the voices in the South Asian LGBTQIA+ community. In 2016 Lanji created HUNGAMA (East London’s Queer Bollywood Hip/Hop night) and with it has captured the worlds attention championing Queer/Creative South Asians.
