River

River is a changemaker and storyteller whose writing, speaking, and performance art challenge traditional narratives and celebrate the power of innovation. River is proudly Ecuadorian-American, two-spirit, and disabled. With a focus on inclusion, River has spoken on themes of intersectionality and disability at prestigious universities such as Chicago, Kansas, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, as well as the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning. Their forthcoming poetry collection, HAMPI, reflects their Ecuadorian-American heritage and their deep connection to Pachamama, their Manteño and Inca ancestors and teachers. River is a passionate advocate against racism and LGBTQIA2S+ discrimination. Through their writing and performance art, River creates a space for individuals to share their stories and reimagine the margins as sites of possibility. With a strong commitment to community care, River inspires and uplifts those around them, and continues to make a meaningful impact in the world. They are based out of Greater Orlando, Florida.
